Hello,

I have a question on how to do something that should be pretty simple: How to install a listening device so that I can record what happens in another room in my house. What makes this easier is that the house is wired with extra CAT5 and RG6 cables to that room that I could use for that.

I would think that a simple microphone could be attached to wires, but I'm not sure where to start to find something small. Would it also be powered by the same cable?

Ideally, I'd like to hook the other end into my computer and use software to record, preferable using Voice Activated Recording that you see on most handheld voice recorders out these days. Any help on how to do this would be much appreciated. Thanks!
