Spyware Free Phones

I am in the middle of a VERY ugly custody battle and have been wondering how the father knows everything. After reading your posts, I have a Blackberry, I am almost convinced that I have spyware on my phone. It does ALL of the warning signs you listed.

My question is ... which cell phones are the safest? Are there any out there that are not spyware compatible? I have AT&T and would even be willing to buy a phone off ebay or somewhere to ensure my privacy.

The only features I want on a cell is a camera and a full keyboard. I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new phone and would like to avoid a 2 year contract if possible but if I have to .. then I will. Most of the phones I see on EBay say .. "unlocked" and from what I gathered on the Internet .. that is a bad thing as far as spyware is concerned.

Hi Yikes,

If you want to make sure you get a phone that someone like your ex cannot install spy software, just make sure it's not an Android, BB, Symbian, or Windows Mobile phone. You can buy an iPhone and be safe, just as long as you don't jailbreak / unlock the phone.

Another point to bring up is that there is no way to install the software remotely, so if you take your BB in to your service center and have the reinstall the OS, it will wipe any possible spy software on your phone. Then moving forward just make sure you don't let your BB out of your sight and make sure you also protect it with a PIN number.
