As most readers will probably know, Flexispy now offers recording of BBM chats as part of their new Pro-X version. This was the main reason I bought the product, as my target (teen age daughter) uses this application quite a bit.

Unfortuanately, despite every other aspect of the software working perfectly, I'm having trouble getting the BBM chats recorded. Initially it worked quite well, but then quickly began working only sporadically and recently not at all.

I've consulted withe the Flexispy help desk at length about this problem and they tell me that the likely issue with how the target user is utilizing the BBM application. They’ve told me that unless the user closes out of each BBM conversation upon completion (instead of say, switching applications to text or use the browser, while leaving BBM running in the background), the flexispy software won’t have a chance to upload the BBM records to its server for viewing. I’m partially but not fully convinced this is the problem, as I think I have motivated the target to close the application and yet I am still not getting any BBM records. I now believe that my target is somehow (by choosing clear history?) erasing the BBM data before it can be recorded by Flexispy. Enquiries with the support team at Flexispy have run their course without providing resolution, but to be fair, my sense is that they were as helpful as they could be – they simply don’t have certain answers as to why the software isn’t picking up the BBM chats. Also, and again to Flexispy’s credit, they have offered to give me a full refund, but I don’t want to take them up on it, since the other aspects of the product work so well.

My conclusion from this experience, and what I would tell prospective buyers of Flexispy’s software is that while all other aspects of the product work exactly as advertised – spy calls, monitor calls, SMS, email and voice call logging, spying on the BBM application is not yet working perfectly (in my experience, far from it), and therefore, if BBM monitoring is key to what you are trying to accomplish, you would need to think twice about buying the software. It’s my understanding that BBM monitoring is a relatively new feature for all BB spy software, and I hope that improvements can be made in future releases that will make it as reliable as the other services the software offers.

I’d be curious to hear about other users experience with spy software and its ability to reliably record BBM chats – both for Flexispy or other software. For the record the Target BB uses OS 5.0.0.602 and BBM version 4.7.0.
